CONVENTION OVERVIEW

Every two years, the DCRP holds their county convention to conduct party business. Delegates play a key role by voting on various items and participating in their Legislative District caucus meeting.

WHAT POSITIONS DO DELEGATES ELECT

Delegates elect several positions while in their Legislative District caucus meetings. 

• County Central Committee Members. Each Legislative District elects anywhere from 5-15 members. CCC members  meet most months during their 2-year term.
• State Central Committee Members. Each Legislative District elects 3 members. SCC members meet 3-4 times a year during their  2-year term.
• State Convention Delegates. Each Legislative District elects delegates and alternates. They attend the 2026 NEGOP State Convention.

• DATE: Saturday, April 11th
• TIME: 9:00 a.m. meeting with check-in starting at 7:30
• LOCATION: Metropolitan Community Center South

WHO CAN BE A DELEGATE

A delegate must be a registered Republican voter in Douglas County.

The delegate registration must be completed anytime from January 1st – March 1st, along with the $5 filing fee.

No prior party experience is required.

DELEGATE REGISTRATION

All individuals wishing to serve as delegates must register with the Nebraska Republican Party using the official delegate registration process.

• Complete the registration form with your name, address, county, and contact information.
• Submit the required $5 delegate filing fee by credit card.
• Registration is complete once the form and payment are received.

KEY POINTS FOR THE CONVENTION

• Registration Period: January 1 – March 1, 2026. Registrations must be completed within the stated window to be eligible for seating at the county convention.
• Delegate Filing Fee: $5 per delegate. There is no further charge for delegates to attend on April 11.
• Confirmation Letter: Once each applicant is verified as a registered republican voter in Douglas County, delegates will receive a confirmation letter in mid-March to notify them of their approval.

• Can I attend without registering? No. To be seated as a delegate at the county convention, individuals must register as a delegate between January 1st-March 1st using the official State Party Delegate Form.
